Second Chance Last Opportunity, Inc., (SCLO) operates from three different locations: • Emergency Crisis Center 1933 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Way, Sarasota, FL 34234 (941) 360-8660 Emergency Food Distributions are Tuesdays & Thursdays 11:30 AM to 3:00 PM. Recipients are pre-registered and vetted. Those in need may receive non-perishables, baked goods, meat, fresh produce from the SCLO garden, or a hot meal. Emergency clothing is available for clients in need during our Emergency Food Distributions. • SCLO Administration and Counseling Center 14 S Lime Ave. Sarasota, FL 34237 • (941) 413-7409 • SCLO Women and Girls’ Center 1032-1034 Colleton Dr. Sarasota, FL 34234 (941) 993-1001 Bundles of Joy Emergency baby supplies distribution for pre-registered clients takes place on Tuesdays from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM. Clients may receive diapers once a month and supplies such as wipes, formula, and baby food twice a month. Recipients are pre-registered and vetted. Pieces of Me Women and girls empowerment classes, in person or via Zoom, Thursdays, 4-6 PM, followed by art or sewing projects. Participants are encouraged to keep a journal. Learning a mantra called “I Am That I Am,” individuals are taught theoretical and practical ways of creating a new beginning for themselves. They begin to build self-confidence, as well as learn how to reduce stress and repair the brokenness that they have encountered in their past and present situations, such as coping with unhealthy relationships, experiencing incarceration, and losing a loved one. (Flip-top cans preferred.) • Sponsor a gently-used clothing drive for women and men. • Sponsor a New Toy drive for our annual Christmas party. • Ask the Mission Team at your church or synagogue to contribute to SCLO. • Invite prospects to your place of business, tell them what you do, and ask everyone to make a contribution to SCLO. OUR MISSION To empower individuals in crisis by providing them essential skills and tools so that they can manage their lives more productively. OUR FOUNDER and CEO Dr. April Glasco She holds a Master's Degree in Mental Health Counseling and a Doctor of Divinity. SCLO SPECIAL EVENTS FOR CLIENTS INCLUDE: Backpack giveaways, educational field trips, holiday celebrations (Easter, Valentine's Day, Mother’s Day, etc.). Clients receive meals, food baskets, gift cards, and presents for youth and their families. • We always look for event sponsors, Silent Auction items, and raffle prizes.
